Having strong, healthy relationships can boost our health, enhance our immune system, lower stress, deepen states of happiness and wellbeing and help us live a longer life.
To keep relationships healthy, happy and enriched remember the little things… Take time to talk with each other, be curious about the people in your life. Ask them questions like what is going well for them. Find points of mutuality to share connection, support and joy.
When conflict arises, ask yourself what it is you both really want? Often we each want to be heard, understood and appreciated for who we are and the value we bring. Stances of “right and wrong” diminish everyone’s value. Agree to disagree and allow life to be the mirror it is showing you an emotion, a situation that you can explore and ask what can I learn from this today?
Relationships are the glue of life that bond us together. Surround yourself with people that help you to flourish and nourish those everyday. Day by day, you will notice more and more happy, healthy relationships developing in your life.
